Turn old magazines into a table!

Table Made From 6 Magazines and a Circle of Glass

Table Made From 6 Magazines and a Circle of Glass

This table is made from six magazines, a round piece of glass and metal base by designer Vered Zaykovsky.  See Treehugger for more info and links.

Interleaved pages in magazine table

Interleaved pages in magazine table

This table is made of Domus magazines, and uses no cutting and no glue – you can see in the closeup the pages are interleaved, holding the magazines together and creating a beautiful geometric pattern.  I really want to try to make this….!

This other “table” also used six magazines and is also constructed using no glue or scissors.  Apartment therapy shows it being used as a plant stand, which looks very cool but a bit tippy.  I think it would make an excellent window display for a store.

How to make a tetrapack wallet:

  • cut the top and bottom, make a flap on one side,
  • fold in half,
  • tape the middle edges, and
  • stick a bit of velcro to close the flap, or use an elastic band

Eco-chic Gum Wrapper Handbags

These folded wrapper bags are so tough and cool looking…

The Ecoist has the nicest collection I’ve seen

They are sorted by type of label/packaging…. I love the strawberry n’ kiwi bag!

How do you make them?

You fold

the wrappers over on themselves, then make a chain of them, then sew them together!

Looks so cool… looks so hard!
